Ep. 6 | What's the Deal With "All In" Recovery?

Ep. 6 | What's the Deal With "All In" Recovery?

Hi guys! It's been a minute. In this episode I talk about something that I've been seeing circulating the eating disorder community which is the "all in" approach to recovery. In this podcast I talk about what it means to be fully committed to recovery and I also talk about how I personally used this approach to reach food freedom. So sit back, relax and have a conversation with me! I don't use scripts for these podcasts (I've tried and failed miserably) so I may sound like I'm thinking about what to say next in most of this podcast, and it's because I am haha. Take what you want from this podcast, but remember that everyone is on their own path. You can tweak this "all in" approach to best fit your recovery, just make sure you make the ED angry as heck in the process ;) Thank you for listening!

Ep. 5 | Your Eating Disorder May Be Affecting Your Relationship with Ben Herrick

Welcome to episode 6 and the last podcast of the year! Today I brought back my husband, Ben, to join me in casual conversation about how my eating disorder affected our relationship throughout the years. He gives great insight regarding how to approach certain relationship situations while in eating disorder recovery and we discusses the importance of taking some time away from your partner to focus on healing. Grab your partner, a cup of tea or just relax and have a conversation with us about this important topic! As always, stay in and keep fighting the good fight!

Ep. 3 | Life After Recovery, Not Giving Up, and Why Faith is Important with Ben Herrick

This is episode 3 and I am so, so excited for this one because a 7-year sober addiction warrior, Ben Herrick, joins us today to discuss the reality of addiction and how he had to relearn how to live life after recovery. His testimony and insight on this topic will have you pulling out your notebooks and re-examining your own intentions in recovery. Even if you are not struggling with addiction yourself, you can surely gain invaluable advice from Ben as he dives deep into how his faith, accountability, treatment and support system guided him through the seemingly long road to recovery.

Ep. 2 | More on Weight Gain, Staying In, and Shaming the Thin Ideal

Ep. 2 | More on Weight Gain, Staying In, and Shaming the Thin Ideal

Welcome to episode 2! This week I decided to continue talking about gaining weight in eating disorder recovery as I feel it is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest fear amongst those who are considering recovery or for those who are stuck in partial recovery. In this podcast I'll share more practical tips on how to deal with your changing body so that you can avoid self-sabotage. I also explain why we, as a society, have gotten to a point where idealizing thinness has reached an all time low and are causing the prevalence of eating disorders and disordered fad diets to skyrocket. I hope you gain at least one thing from this episode. Thank you for listening and always remember to stay in and keep fighting the good fight!
