In this episode Ash and her team head to North Carolina. The group is scheduled to do a lie detector test that might have a huge impact on the team's investigation. Ash waits for the results with Kate and Michael and discusses that will happen depending on the results.

The results are in and Ash hears out Andrew the lie detector technician and then delivers the news to her crew, investigators, and Hannah, one of Taylor Eakin's best friend from 2013.

Join Ash, Debbie & Kate as they investigate the death of 17 year old Kendrick Johnson in 2013 in Lowndes County, Georgia.    

Kendrick Johnson, known as KJ by many friends and family was found deceased at Lowndes County High School and was discovered inverted in a wrestling mat inside of the Old Gym.    Ash and her team do a deep dive into the case to find out what happened to Kendrick Johnson? and who is responsible for his death?  

In this episode Ash and her team finish out the mat experiments and they also get some interesting news about a new lawsuit in this case.    Ash combs through the results of the mat test and the new lawsuit.  Ash even starts to show clips from the surveillance tapes, which she will be doing a full work up on in an upcoming episode.

17 Year Old Kendrick Johnson was found deceased rolled up in a high school gym mat in January of 2013 at Lowndes County High School in Valdosta, Georgia. Ash and her team do a deep dive to discover the truth around what really happened to Kendrick Johnson. Was KJ murdered or is the Johnson family pushing a false narrative to help continue the steady stream of donations? 

In this episode Ash delves more into the mat test and what will be showcased in the future in regards to these experiments. 

Ash also discovers the name of the man who made the second “confession” tape that was supposedly recorded by a cousin of the Bell family. Was this recording actually recorded by a cousin of the Bell family?  Ash will answer this question and more throughout this episode.

Ep. 22 “The Mat (Part 1)” Kendrick Johnson Mat Experiment – Ashes to Ash True Crime Episode 22 “The Mat (Part 1)” 

This episodes kicks off the Kendrick Johnson's mat experiments.  Ash has gotten her hands on a replica gym mat, the exact same kind, shape, size mat the KJ was discovered inside of, deceased, on January 11th, 2013.  Two teenagers with similar shoulder widths to Kendrick Johnson join Ash in this experiment to see if it is possible for a person to slide down the mat and not be able to get out?  

Ash interviews both boys extensively to find out if they have any biases or even know about the Kendrick Johnson case?  Next Ash takes their shoulder measurements to see how they compare to Kendrick Johnson's shoulder width.  Both boys have slightly larger shoulder widths, but this works in favor of the experiment and not against it.  If KJ had 16 inch shoulders then the subject in the experiment needs to have that size of bigger to insure the results are not skewed from a smaller framed individual. 

Ash then instructs both boys to crawl through the mat while it rests on its side.  Find out in this episode if both boys were able to get through the whole in the mat. 

Next Ash has both boys go into the mat and the mat is inverted, the results are surprising.
