Here I read my letter to reader. I introduce myself and what my podcast is going to be about. Each day, I will be reading part of my book to tell my true story. I am doing this to raise awareness about military sexual trauma and retaliation.   

It took me five years to even consider to go to the doctor to have a gynecological examination. I communicated with the nurse practitioner that I am a survivor of multiple sexual assaults and that I am service connected for military sexual trauma. She told me that she heard what I was telling her. Obviously, she did not hear me or believe me until I had a panic attack and the trauma memories where triggered during examination. Doctors and nurses need to listen to there patients when one says, I am a survivor of multiple sexual assaults and I live with Post traumatic Stress. 

Shut Up and Listen to Survivors, a powerful poem that was originally wrote for those who ignore survivors. I know first hand what rape does to the survivors. I live this hell each and every day. This is directed at those who want to control women, ignore our voices and seem to know better then survivors that live with the affects each and every day. 

Today, I wanted to read two of my poems that I wrote while on deployment on USS Ronald Reagan. 

Grief and Rising is the every first poem I wrote after being at a healing retreat for 15 days. This is a powerful poem that tells about my healing path and how I broke free from abuse. It's available in my book, The Boulders In My Life That Shaped My Journey.
