#79 The absence of compassion can lead to BPD thoughts.

#79 The absence of compassion can lead to BPD thoughts.

This episode pertains to my experience when you have the absence of compassion and that closeness and loving words can lead to the thoughts
Of infidelity from the person with BPD because they figure if you're not acting loving towards them and offering loving words that you must be offering all that to somebody else so that can be a huge trigger and either end up with them splitting or slowly leading into a much bigger and explosive argument either lasting the normal time that your person splits or any longer period of time.
So this is views and suggestions for my personal experiences in regards to the subject.

#78 Splitting and effective ways to control the argument.

These are suggestions that I have used as well as read about and watch videos when it comes to splitting on how to take control of the argument to avoid the person with BPD of them deflecting and getting off track when it comes to the matter at hand but as well as effective ways to show empathy and validate their feelings.

SPOT ON! I’ve tried everything I can think of when getting into an argument and nothing has worked. Especially true saint or satan. Stay or leave talk back or stay quiet it doesn’t matter she is fixing to say the most hurtful thing she can think of.

Man, F*** this.

It’s all so true. And I thank you so much for doing this pod. You’re fantastic. And it was a godsend. But man, I dunno about these people. I’m tired of bending over backwards for this abuse. I don’t see it getting better. Ugh.

Missy and Lewis 3rd times a charm

I would love to just say thank you very much for your podcast. You are a godsend to my boyfriend and I. I can’t tell you how each episode has brought me to tears him as well as were both very highly emotional and very sensitive to what is mentally challenging in our lives. My boyfriend has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but we both feel like he needs to also get considered for having Bpd he has so many of the traits and symptoms and actions that happen with people with BPD. I have been diagnosed with several things bipolar D ID and Bpd we both have post traumatic stress disorder with the relationship kind so the CPTSD from past relationships and our upbringing. We were sixth grade sweethearts and you know childhood love is childhood love and that’s that. Then we reconnected in our early 20s however, he decided that he had to be with another girl and love her and marry her. I let him go willingly because if that meant he was going to be happy I had to. I promised his wife to be that I would never speak to him as long as they were married because I loved him that much and I’ll let him go so that they could be happy. 25 years I waited and I never spoke a word to him and I never made it a point to talk to anyone much about him except for his sister and that ended after about 10 years. And 25 years later he called me and I said Lewis where are you and he said at my dads and I said I am already on the way I just got the car I’ll be right there we’ve been inseparable really ever since. Now my self sabotage and his episodes of anger and paranoia are trying to rip us apart but we are damned determined to not let it happen. we love each other and if a span of 30 some years doesn’t prove it I don’t know what does. I know this love has to be strong enough to win out in the end with these disorders. And we are willing to put in the work. we’ve just looked into getting individual and couples counseling because now we both have insurance again but we know it’s going to be hard and there are days when I feel like his words make me want to just die because there’s no hope if he doesn’t love me. he’s the only man I’ve loved my entire life even though we were apart for so many years I still didn’t stop even one day thinking about how he was and if he was OK and if he was happy and safe. And he is here next to me and I’m still in shock and I hate it when he gets paranoid and gets so hurtful and mean and I hate myself when I do things to sabotage our happiness. Also my life with Lewis that I have waited so many years for I finally have and now I’m trying to sabotage it??? It makes no sense at all. What does make sense are your podcasts without them I would lose hope quite quickly for any chance that we had to have a healthy and happy and sane relationship that we deserve. He is the most wonderful man I’ve ever met the best friend, lover and the most brilliant brain I’ve ever interacted with, there’s no one that can compare to him. what he fills me with love, hope, compassion, all of the things I starve for, he gives me freely and he loves me fiercely and I love him more than anything in this world. I always have. I always will. It just is. that’s our mantra. So, thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. You have given us hope thank you for being our light.
