But what happens when a cyber-attack comes from nowhere to wreck havoc? Will we be prepared? What are the cascading societal effects of such actions?

A shortened episode, we'll resume with a full-length episode next week with Ben van Buskirk as we discuss career diversity and how broadening experiences across a wide variety of industries can turbocharge your innovative potential.

National Security Professionals- Listen Up!

As a an educator who teaches graduate, in-residence joint professional military education to senior officers, I strongly recommend this podcast for all National Security professionals. Interesting, credible, and cerebral, Guy Snodgras does a phenomenal job discussing future technological trends with top-notch guests. Would love to hear a future podcast with a guests from DARPA and/or the JAIC.

Loved the book. It gives great insight on what goes on behind the scenes at the Pentagon. I have also enjoyed the podcast. I would like you to cover on a future podcast Geospatial technology and how it is used

Right now too much of an oral essay

Bus, you’ve got a ton of knowledge and experience from which to share. I think the podcast can, however, come across as like hearing an essay or background paper being delivered verbally. Food for thought: (a) I want to hear your point of view more, not just a well structured recitation of facts (eg with the Austin nomination). Your personal view doesn’t come thru enough - take a position. I’m still not sure your view on the Austin nomination (b) I think you need a foil of some sort who can better draw you out for shows where you aren’t interviewing someone.

Other thoughts: the topics can skew to “inside the beltway” - overly political - sometimes. Seems there are tons of topics for which you are highly qualified to cover, eg (a)the new navy fleet strategy which recognizes the vulnerabilities of carriers, (b) the role of fighter pilots in 25 years time , (c) more on the “opportunities” for the navy to improve (eg post CO retention and retention in general)

Best of luck.
