S6 Ep 11 My Grab Bag of Life

S6 Ep 11 My Grab Bag of Life

I have always had this idea that I’d go into my grab bag of advice– actually two grab bags I have - and this episode is called My Grab Bag of Life. I recorded it in case you hear something that helps. Word of caution – it will be random. Some life things some flutey things and you'll hear about Sarah.
I chose some Christmas Nativity music – this time my arrangement all played by me – of Morten Lauridsen’s O Magnum Mysterium

S6 EP 10 A Musician's Winter Break. Yin or Yang?

S6 EP 10 A Musician's Winter Break. Yin or Yang?

Last season I didn’t do a podcast during the holidays so I thought I’d end this season with advice for getting through it all. So I chose the most obvious of titles.  – A Musician’s Winter Break. Yin? Or Yang? Yin being restorative and yang being filled with power. Both will be productive,
    believe me.

S6 Ep 8 Performance Therapy: Auditioning for Music School and What Professors Want

S6 Ep 8 Performance Therapy: Auditioning for Music School and What Professors Want

I’m happy to be coming to you with some prescriptions for
naturally healing your fear of being in the hot seat during those pre-screening and live auditions for music school.  Let me tell you, I don’t like being judged any more than you do so let me tell you how to best be yourself, how to think, who to listen to when it comes to your playing (hint: it’s not you) and what is expected of student’s in an audition
for schools, both undergrad and grad.

With me in the pod, several of my unnamed alumni, in order to show you that they all are looking for a lot of the same things. Stay tuned to find out what those concepts and hard truths are.

Awesome!

I am a flutist and educator and have been getting so much out of this. Love it! One suggestion I would make is to give the music included in the show it’s own time instead of having music played behind the talking. I would like to really give my attention to both the discussion and the music.
