How to Heal Trauma Through Advocacy

After my interview with Amelia Perrin at American Wild Horse Conservation, I wanted to share how to get outside yourself after trauma and advocate for something close to your heart.

American Wild Horse Conservation - What You Need To Know

American Wild Horse Conservation - What You Need To Know

Today I am really proud to be speaking with Amelia Perrin, who is the Investigations Program Manager for the American Wild Horse Conservation. An organization that I personally have been posting a lot about lately. Interestingly, Amelia suffers from Post concussion syndrome. She had a traumatic accident that left her with a horrible brain injury that sent her from Doctor to doctor to doctor. Some of which did not believe her that she was suffering. Labeling her with different diagnosis and never really getting to the problem. However, this has not stopped her from the incredible work that she continues to do with AWHC and her dreams of studying journalism.

The Right Way to Stand Up for Yourself

The Right Way to Stand Up for Yourself

When we allow someone to emotionally break us down or influence our mindset by using fear tactics that do not serve us or benefit our life, we are allowing ourselves to suffer, be depressed and basically not live a life that brings us joy and fulfillment. It is an age old saying, but it is so true. “It is much easier to be miserable than it is to be happy.”

How Do You Right Wrongs & Do The Right Thing

How Do You Right Wrongs & Do The Right Thing

Doing the right thing and making the decision to do the right thing is really scary. That is one of my questions How can you do the right thing without knowing what the consequences are? The answer to that question is really easy. You don’t know. But if you know in your heart that it is the right thing to do without being vindictive then you are on the right track.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to begin to change the way you believe in yourself.  What was my belief system growing up? How has it served me? Sit with that for awhile and decide if this is the way you want to continue living and if it brings joy, love and growth into your life.

Review

I just found this podcast and I love it. The episodes are easy to listen to and each gives an encouragement to move forward in growth. I’ve so loved Ari’s role on Days since her beginning (I’ve watched the show since it’s beginning) and have noticed her change in her character. Thank you Ari for all you do. I could totally relate to the 7th grade incident but not just the teacher I’ve got a twin sister who would yell and state you talk louder at home! A double put down!! So I’ve worked hard to be positive in my life for myself and others. Keep doing what you are doing it’s working💕thank you. Diane
