Host Mike Demana welcomes Saga Ohio aficionado Dan Neal to break down the most recent 2022 FAQ from Studio Tomahawk. Dan and Mike go through each of the changes, giving examples, and breaking down the changes or clarifications. This episode should prove useful to those who either haven't had a chance to analyze the changes themselves, or who need examples and rephrasing into simple English. Dan and Mike are fans of the new changes, but don't back away from pointing out controversy or identifying armies that may be negatively impacted by the rules. They also point out troop types or armies that may get a bump from 2022 Saga FAQ and might warrant a second look for a new warband for players to field. Enjoy!

Saga Ohio review: Excellent, IMHO

This is an excellent podcast. Please be aware my opinions are somewhat biased, because I hold the host (Mike D.) in very high esteem based on personal interactions. However, many objective factors make this a great podcast for anyone interested in skirmish level historical miniature war gaming. Saga players will be particularly interested, of course, but I think anyone in the hobby will find the podcast worthwhile. In no particular order, here are the reasons to give it a five star rating.
1. The host is a history teacher, with a great depth of knowledge and passion for the historical subject matter.
2. The host knows how to keep things moving. I assume this skill also arises from his work as an educator. The usual nonsense that bothers me in other amateur podcasts is kept to a minimum; there are almost no inside jokes, shout outs to “all the super-cool dudes we drink with”, ummms and ahhhs, extended periods of forced laughter, or editing issues that plague many hobby podcasts.
3. Sound quality and editing are excellent.
4. The discussions about Saga as a game are very detailed and helpful. We get long discussions about force construction, tactics, relative strengths and weaknesses, etc.
5. Most of the guests have been knowledgeable and articulate. Everyone involved, including the host, has obviously done their homework. The discussions regarding Saga tactics are therefore very helpful.
6. Everyone involved brings a great enthusiasm to the subject. Listening makes me want to paint some miniatures and get back to gaming more often, which is the mark of any good hobby podcast.
