If your engagement rate on social media is anywhere above or even approaching 5%, you’re doing great. I did some research to see how this rate stacked up against popular social media content creators and found that they don’t do much better than 5% engagement on their posts. So if that’s what you’re at now and you’re worried that it’s low, don’t worry, because you’re doing better than Justin Bieber (No, really, you are! Promoting other people's business in order to promote your own sounds counter intuitive, right? Well, if implemented correctly and integrated into  a larger digital marketing strategy, promoting other people's businesses in a way that's relevant to your own might just be a strategy that's crazy enough to work.

On this episode I talk about how you can leverage of other business's social media followings to grow your business without paying for advertising.  I discuss examples of how I've done this before, how you can quantify success of a strategy like this accurately, and I give an example where I think #Yelp could have used this strategy successfully (it baffles me that they don't- it seems so obvious for their brand!).
