    Grossingers might have closed in 1986 but that’s not where Joe Lehman's story ended.
    In 1986, Joe and his family moved from West Palm Beach Florida to live at Grossinger’s after it closed. His father was Robert Lehman, the Vice President of Servico, a company that attempted to reopen the hotel.

    Today you will hear about Grossinger’s from a very new perspective. Joe chats about what is was like to live at this legendary hotel at during the often talked about "decline", we chat about the reasons for the decline, and the impact these hotels had on millions of people.

     Anna E. Jordan has an MFA from the Writing for Children and Young Adults program at Vermont College of Fine Arts and was the recipient of the 2013 PEN New England Susan P. Bloom Children's Book Discovery award.  She teaches in the DC area with her cat Rothko, and like yours truly is in search of the tastiest knish.

This is SO GOOD!

I eagerly await each new episode. I’m such a fan of the whole Borsht Belt thing! … then & now. Because there’s a revival and Jenn is totally on top of it. She has wonderful guests talking about the fun, the showbiz, the families, the sports, the celebrities, the new Borsht Belt museum… the whole cultural mishmash. You can taste it. Treat yourself to this podcast!

Big fan of Jen and the podcast! She has so much passion and interest for the Borscht Belt. With a wide range of guests from historians, to photographers such as myself, workers, hotel owner descendant, and more, Jen brings such interest to the table with her guests - honoring the past and the rich legacy of the Catskills while radiating so much positivity for the new tourism wave and true renaissance currently being ushered into the area.
