    "Something Has Happened"- Serges Demefack

    Serges Defemeflack is the founder of  Yemba USA  the nonprofit cultural organization that promotes Bamileke culture, language, and tradition.  He is a well-respected and influential leader who has dedicated his life to fighting for immigrants' rights. Currently, he works for the  American Friends Service Committee, a non-profit organization located in Newark NJ. He coordinates programs that center on fighting for human rights and ending detention and deportation. He is an activist well-versed in immigration and citizenship law. 



    Apart from his profession Serges is a well-rounded artist, author, historian, and intellectual. Speaking with him he provided insights into how healing within our communities begins with becoming intentional. This requires grounding ourselves in traditions and creating intergenerational bonds.
