Creativity Explosion

Surviving Creativity is a show I do not miss! It’s like sitting down after work, and just talking with friends about what they’ve been doing. It’s both hilarious and informing. It used to be just Scott, Brad, and Cory talking about stuff, and cracking each other up. Now they’re talking to other creatives (not just visual artists), and I can’t wait to listen! So glad it’s back!!

Fun and educational

I have been a supporter of the podcast on Patreon ever since I found out that would give me access to a ringtone of Brad Guigar’s laugh. I am not an artist or creative type but the interviews are fun and I often learn something about running a business.

The Comics Professionals’ Podcast

Surviving Creativity is the best podcast I’ve listened to on the topic of being a comics creator. While other podcasts focus on the product itself - the titles, the issues, the strips and the storylines - this podcast discusses the actual work of making comics, with a focus on self-publishing comics online. If you’re an aspiring professional, this is one to listen to, hosted by cartoonists who pioneered webcomics and have been working in the industry for decades. Also, the theme song and outro music are fantastic, despite what Scott thinks.

The only improvement I can think of is that the show would benefit from more diversity. While the hosts are fairly progressive, they’re all Gen X white cishet guys. Some variety of perspective by other working professionals would be a welcome addition.
