    S2 - E10 - "J" - Jimi Hendrix - Jose Jose - with Gallo from 'Sucias Are My Favorite'

Trigger Warning: The first part of the episode we discuss the recent spat of gun violence in the United States. Naturally that leads to some political discussion. If you are sensitive to this kind of talk, or don't want to hear political conversation, please skip to the 9:00 mark.

Jumpin' Jehoshaphat! Join us to jam with Juggalo Gallo again, from Sucias Are My Favorite, where his episodes focus typically about general conversations about dating, relationships, the kink community, and other adult topics. Plus some basics about kink you ought to know, what it is, what it isn't.

First, CONSENT – Believe it or not, K!nk (should not) happen without it. TRUST – you have to trust each other. SAFETY – you have to trust that your partner will be safe. These three together are the foundation of K!nk and with it one can safely explore their own boundaries with someone else.

The topics don't end there, though. He's got episodes discussing his time in the military (Army, but we'll allow, lol), also, as a Roller Derby ref, machismo and 'the red pill', and other interesting topics.

Gallo is intelligent, well-spoken, and informed. Check out his show.

Also making a vocal appearance (thrice now!), is Super Producer Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'.

Our artists this week are Jimi Hendrix, and Jose Jose.

The songs discussed, in order, are:

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)

Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made Of Sand

    Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower

Jimi Hendrix - How Would You Feel (w/ Curtis Knight & The Squires)

    Jose Jose - El Triste

Jose Jose - Gavilan O Paloma

    Jose Jose - Y Que?

    Jose Jose - 40 Y 20

Jose Jose - El Amar Y El Querer

Naturally, we also play "Is It Aerosmith", now with its own thematic introduction!

S2 - E09 - "I" - Iggy Pop - Insane Clown Posse - with Gallo from 'Sucias Are My Favorite'

It's interesting indeed, inferring ideas from our I artists!

Joining me this go 'round, a very special (unique) episode #50 (!) for File Under: Entertainment, is Gallo, from Sucias Are My Favorite, where his episodes focus typically about general conversations about dating, relationships, the kink community, and other adult topics. Plus some basics about kink you ought to know, what it is, what it isn't.

First, CONSENT – Believe it or not, K!nk (should not) happen without it.
TRUST – you have to trust each other.
SAFETY – you have to trust that your partner will be safe.

Gallo is intelligent, well-spoken, and informed. Check out his show.

Also making a vocal appearance (twice now!), to shed more light on WHY ICP isn't the most awful band in the land, is Super Producer Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'.

That's right, we get some out of character offerings from Iggy Pop; and.....about what you'd probably expect, I guess, from Insane Clown Posse.

The songs discussed, in order, are:

Iggy Pop - Lust For Life

    Iggy Pop - Isolation

    Iggy Pop - Talking Snake

    Iggy Pop - Avenue B

    Iggy Pop - American Valhalla

    Insane Clown Posse - Bitches

Insane Clown Posse - Let's Go All The Way

Insane Clown Posse - Please Don't Hate Me

Insane Clown Posse - Just Like That

Insane Clown Posse - Piggy Pie

TRIGGER WARNING: Insane Clown Posse talk consistently about violence, in general, but especially against women in the opening track, and there is also discussion about suicide / self harm in the final track, which leads to a discussion between Gallo and myself pretty extensively about the topic, as well as gun violence and also politics in general.

Naturally, we also play "Is It Aerosmith", now with its own thematic introduction!

    S2 - E08 - "H" - Halsey - The Hold Steady - with Jake & David from 'Life Is Unfair' / Let's Play Deathray

    S2 - E08 - "H" - Halsey - The Hold Steady - with Jake & David from 'Life Is Unfair' / Let's Play Deathray

Holy heckin' hallelujah, here we are heralding the letter H!

Joining me for this hot mess are Jake & David, from Life Is Unfair, THE 'Malcolm In The Middle' rewatch podcast that you can hear each Thursday, as they go in chronological order through the series. If you are a fan of that sitcom (and of course you are, because you have good taste!) you absolutely need to be listening to these guys (and sometimes ME) discussing the episodes and making them even more hilarious.

They also have an incredible Twitch channel, Lets Play Deathray, where they variety stream all sorts of awesome content, banter back and forth (along with third member Kyle, (when he's not punching drywall)), and interact with their community in amazing ways. Definitely check that out, especially on a Sunday Community Night, where you'll catch them (and also sometimes me), playing Jackbox games, Gartic Phone, Minecraft, or any number of fun games. They stream every night except Friday and Saturday's around 7:30 PM MST.

Also making a vocal appearance (for once), of course to tell me how wrong I am, is Super Producer Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'.

While there wasn't the usual "Eric Curse" that seems to befall us when I record with Jake & David, we still did make it an incredibly long episode, chatting about what turns out to be some of our absolute favorite artists, Halsey, and The Hold Steady.

The songs discussed, in order, are:

    Halsey - Hurricane

    Halsey - 100 Letters

    Halsey - Nightmare

    Halsey - Without Me

Halsey - Bells In Santa Fe

The Hold Steady - Positive Jam

The Hold Steady - Cattle And The Creeping Things

The Hold Steady - One For The Cutters

The Hold Steady - The Stove And The Toaster

The Hold Steady - Hanover Camera

Naturally, we also play "Is It Aerosmith", now with its own thematic introduction! Fng FANCY.

Even though blessedly we don't have cause to discuss sexual violence in this episode, I feel that it's important to leave the links to the following organizations in for the foreseeable future:

Mark also wanted to draw attention to The Rex Foundation, which is the official foundation founded by The Grateful Dead to proactively support creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education.

In this incredibly fun, incredibly LONG episode, we discuss Garbage, and The Grateful Dead.

    S2 - E06 - "F" - Fiona Apple - Fugazi - with Erica from Raven Heights Press

    S2 - E06 - "F" - Fiona Apple - Fugazi - with Erica from Raven Heights Press

Finding where we fit in, we continue on with the letter F.

Joining me this go round is Erica from Raven Heights Photo, a photographer, zinester, and soon to be operational vinyl store merchant as she opens up Bird City Records in La Plata, MD on April 28th!

Super Producer Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions' is behind the scenes, performing the magic of music embedding and fact checking / emotional support.

That's right! The positive feedback has been amazing, with all that have reached out saying that they enjoyed the new method of having the music within the episode itself, so we are sticking with it for as long as we can.

In this episode, we discuss Fiona Apple, and Fugazi.

The songs discussed, in order, are:

Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can

    Fiona Apple - Cosmonauts

    Fiona Apple - Werewolf

    Fiona Apple - Love Ridden

Fiona Apple - Never Is A Promise

    Fugazi - Facet Squared

    Fugazi - Rend It

    Fugazi - Reclamation

    Fugazi - Blueprint

    Fugazi - Suggestion

Caution / Trigger Warning, we do discuss sexual assault and sexual violence in this episode. Unfortunately, it is a synchronous thread that both of these artists have experienced and/or discussed extensively. While we think that it is important to talk about to erase the stigma of victims being shamed, we understand that it is not something that everyone is comfortable with, so if you, or a loved one you are listening with is affected by these things, please skip the discussion of Fugazi's "Suggestion" towards the end of the show.

I get emotional discussing this topic, because I know people personally affected by it, and it is something that has to stop. There are amazing people like Erica in the world that make it their literal job to help individuals affected by sexual violence and abuse, but it is a job for ALL OF US. As Fugazi mentions in the song, 'we are all guilty', because we continue to live in a society that normalizes this behavior. Again, it HAS TO STOP.

If you, or a loved one, is, or has been affected by sexual violence, please know that there are good people and organizations in the world that can offer help.

RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.

NSVRC (national sexual violence research center) has resources to help victims, and, importantly, tips on prevention and warning signs.

If you would like to hear more Erica, listen to her incredible show Para-Nerds, which is her and Jessie discussing all things spooky!

If you would like to e-mail the show, you may do so at Fileunderpod@gmail.com. You can follow us on Twitter and vote in our polls, @FileUnderPod.

You can hear more of me, (and future guest on the show), Mark, at The Evil Mark Show, which posts episodes each Tuesday and Thursday (I am on the Thursday show). You can find that show here. And our new YouTube channel is here.

    S2 - E05 - "E" - Ellie Goulding - Eminem - with Jared from 'Feathers And Friends'

    S2 - E05 - "E" - Ellie Goulding - Eminem - with Jared from 'Feathers And Friends'

I'm sure you were expecting the 1940's movies pod, because we told you that was next on the docket, but things have been "re-organized around the filing cabinet" that is File Under: Entertainment.

Dylan has decided to take an extended (likely permanent) hiatus from the show to focus on music and his other creative endeavors, which means that it's a lot of Eric in your ear-holes from now on, but I am granting your senses a reprieve because I will be bringing in a bunch of my friends, many of which I have made through the world of podcasting, to help me on the journey through the rest of the alphabet.

The once (a bit too) ambitious season two will therefore be streamlined to focus strictly on the mainline music episodes, so unfortunately no more decades movies or Side Splitters, at least for the time being.

In this first foray into the great unknown without Dylan as my co-pilot, I have instead Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions' that helped me discuss Ellie Goulding, and Eminem.

I know how much of a pain it is to try to listen to the pod, then pause to go to ostensibly another program to listen to the song we discuss, only to double back to listen to us discuss said song for a couple minutes and then rinse/repeat, so we tried something different here, embedding the songs in the episode for hopefully a seamless transition. I don't know how long we will get away with it, maybe only this once (or maybe not EVEN this once), but here's a roll of the dice to try to make the episodes more palatable for everyone.

Worst case, there is a way to have the music in the eps, but listener-ship would be limited to Spotify itself, and we get a lot of listens through other platforms so I wanted to try to avoid hamstringing the show if possible, but we'll see.

We're embarking on a new path here, so we are forging our own way and hopefully not getting crushed.

Back to the ep. The songs discussed, in order, are: (at least I think thats the correct order of the Eminem songs, we got loosey goosey with it, and I'm also feeling a little loopy and sleep deprived still from a busy week of podcasting, so my apologies if they are out of order.)

Ellie Goulding - Guns And Horses

    Ellie Goulding - Heal

    Ellie Goulding - Paradise

    Ellie Goulding - Lights

    Ellie Goulding - Explosions

Eminem - The Real Slim Shady

    Eminem - Hailie's Song

    Eminem - White America

    Eminem - Stan

    Eminem - Rap God

Caution, we did remove a homophobic slur from White America, but unfortunately there are numerous and there would be too many edits in Rap God to remove all of them, so do be aware that they remain if you are sensitive to that word, and please accept our apologies. Neither Jared nor myself, nor either of our shows, condone homophobia in any way.

If you would like to e-mail the show, you may do so at Fileunderpod@gmail.com. You can follow us on Twitter and vote in our polls, or tell us how awful we are, @FileUnderPod.

File under F for funny

My husband is pretty clever and since he hosts this show I think there is something in our marriage vows about needing to support his shenanigans, blah blah blah. Five stars.

Great

Albeit I’m biased because it’s my show. Just wanted to get us off to a good start ratings wise, waiting for the bevy of ratings to follow. ;)
