Julia's been putting in serious work through the years, not least with 'Wish You Were Here', which she directed and goes into detail on. Of course she and Brett go into all sorts of terrain, including said film direction and being a driver as opposed to passenger, behind the scenes process, not being all the way out in the open, line readings ("Just do it happier!"), doing your own stunts at a younger age, growing up in New York, and good old fashioned fronting. There continues to be debate on the Ted Lasso Facebook fan page about Beard’s first name. Many believe it is “Willis”, because Ted says to him, “I love you Willis.” I believe it is still a mystery, and that he calls Beard Willis as a nickname, because in an earlier episode, Ted says to Beard, “What you talkin’ about Willis?” I took that as an homage to the Gary Coleman line in “Diff’rent Strokes” to his brother, in the 1970s. Please please, solve this mystery!! Loved seeing you in Milwaukee. Cheers!

It’s such an odd, hilarious movie that pulls steadily on your heartstrings. The premise of this podcast is really, really crazy, but brilliant and delightful. A wonderful easter egg is to find the old episode with the guest who comes on the show without knowing how it works. AWKWARD COMEDY GOLD! Brett is a great host and a voracious consumer and lover of cinema. It’s not about football. At all.

I love this podcast and I adore Brett Goldstein! This is one of the only podcasts I listen to every week, and in the meantime go back and listen to old episodes. The premise is 10 out of 10 and a super fun way to learn interesting things about the guests, and also learn about and appreciate films to check out, and it’s so entertaining! I’m always adding new films to my list of what to watch based on the episodes. Brett is the most gracious host - inviting the guests into a bit of improv and fun, while always being a safe place to land. He listens so kindly and it’s lovely to hear what he has to add about all the films. This is a podcast that really gets me through. Thanks, Brett and everyone involved for making it! ❤️
