Never Too Late, Never Too Early

Someone I should really thank mentioned Financial Feminist to me as I was ending a horrific financially-abusive divorce with nothing but 60% of the house sale, two kids and entering the workforce over 50. I swore I’d become more financially literate so I would never be in the same place again and Tori Dunlop’s clear, no-nonsense plans and advice was my introduction to moving my money into a high-yield savings account, asking questions about my Roth and new 401K, being 100% debt-free, and sitting down my oldest child to invest $500 in their first HYSA and Roth IRA (which incidentally rewarded me with a 1% hike for 3 months as a referral!) and I’m keeping a money diary while considering a better side hustle/business. At 52, this is what hope feels like!

New listener but motivated

I’m a new listener to this podcast and I already feel like I have a better understanding of finances! I admit to being intimidated about learning about money but Tori made this a comfortable, safe, supportive space to learn all the things when it comes to money management, investment, and so much more! I’ve already recommended this podcast and book to all my friends! Thank you Tori!

From anxiety to empowerment

I’ve found this to be a truly empowering, eye-opening, inspiring podcast. I’m in my mid-forties, and I used to lay awake at night feeling anxious, thinking how were my husband and I going to save enough to ever retire? How should I prioritize saving and paying off debt? I used to avoid looking at my 401A. I felt powerless and scared. Listening to Tori changed that. I love that she offers concrete steps and real actions to take to prepare for retirement and also for handling situations in the here and now like emergencies and debt. I bought the book to go along with the podcast; it’s awesome, too.
