Couple that with the rise of the consumer patient, that is also carrying a heavier burden of share of wallet with their healthcare expenses, and it’s clear that the system is already facing a fiscal crisis. Now with the added financial crisis of our national pandemic impacting both patient and provider equally, will the system be able to afford to continue in the same way in a post-COVID19 world?
