Finding Humanity in Global Cultures The Axis Effect

    • Tech News

This week, the Media Mavens meet up with Emiliano Reprah, Explorer and Writer at Discovery Inc.
Born in Mexico and raised in Washington, D.C., Ruprah has developed a lifelong passion for wildlife and protecting both dying species and vanishing human cultures. Traveling across the world, Ruprah has worked on a variety of conservation series for National Geographic, citing Crittercam as his first love. A member of the Explorers Club, Ruprah has made some exciting documentaries, putting himself in the line of fire with “War Tourist” and most recently, “NOMADAS,” a beautifully shot nature documentary for Smithsonian Chanel.
Always busy, Ruprah spoke with the Mavens from the Mayan Jungle, in the midst of finding ways to help protect a dying jaguar population. With the Mavens, Ruprah discusses conflict zones, an in-depth look at his current project, working in a battlefield and the moral dilemma in major companies taking resources from dying out societies. “You can’t expect these people to sacrifice their livelihood for what we want.” Ruprah said.
Tune in this week to learn about “Finding Humanity in Global Culture” and what goes on within Mexico’s exciting biodiversity!
