Wasn’t it just a couple of years ago you were sitting on the beach at spring break in Ft. Lauderdale – listening to the Pet Shop Boys, U2, and Def Leppard - with your entire life ahead of you? Now you’re looking back 30 plus years and wondering what the hell happened.

Not that it’s been all bad. Of course, there’ve been highs and lows. And today, everything’s fine. It’s just fine. That’s the problem. You don’t really feel like you have anything to complain about. Lots of people might envy what you have. But you’re feeling a deep undercurrent of suck. Like, there must be something more. And you don’t know what to do about it.

Welcome to FINE is a 4-Letter Word, with host Lori Saitz. Every week, you’ll hear stories of self-discovery and courage from Gen-Xers who have taken the leap to move from fine to fantastic. Whether their FINE was a marriage, a job, a health condition, or any other life circumstance - some jumped proactively and others were pushed off. Some have landed on fantastic and others are still in mid-air. All are grateful to not still be stuck at fine.

None of us knows how much time we have here. So we have to make the most of it. We have to do the things that light us up and bring us joy.

This show will give you hope, help you find your passion and purpose, and dare you to see the life that’s waiting for you. You’ll never hear - or say - the word “fine” in the same way again.

A Dream of Heart Soul Heat with Raoul Benavides

On today’s episode, my guest is a man who is the very definition of someone who wears many hats. Raoul Benavides is a lifelong entrepreneur who has proudly never had a job where he had to answer to someone else, which has allowed him to live a life of freedom on his terms.
We’re talking about balancing feminine and masculine energy, accepting failure as part of the dance, and seeing a vision so clearly that you know in your heart it’s already a reality. I’m eager for you to hear his philanthropic vision because it is really inspiring. And maybe you have connection that can help him get there.
As you’ll hear, Raoul truly believes entrepreneurship is all about the balance between creativity and vulnerability. His diverse career of making his dreams come true has had many chapters. Meditation: Unhooking from Thoughts

    Meditation: Unhooking from Thoughts

Thoughts are part of the human experience. You don’t need to push them away in order to be good at meditation. Learning to bring your mind back from its thoughts is an integral part of practicing meditation.
But how do you let go of those thoughts once they’ve pulled you in?
This exercise offers you a way to “unhook” yourself from those thoughts and simply let them be. Without pushing your thoughts away or denying their presence, you can be aware of the thinking mind while remaining unattached.
If you enjoy this meditation and you’d like to find out how you can create a personalized meditation for yourself, go to https://zenrabbit.com/meditation/ (customizedmeditation.com).

What Winning Looks Like with Lauren Ammon

What Winning Looks Like with Lauren Ammon

On today’s episode, I have a real-life mermaid. If it didn’t involve water, then Lauren Ammon wanted nothing to do with it during her two-decades-long swimming career.
Lauren shares how fear inspired a life-long passion, her different way of meditating, and the importance of falling in love with the process of achieving.
We’re talking about her transition from high-level student-athlete to human resources professional and finally to becoming the mental resilience coach for student-athletes she wishes she’d had.
Her current business focus became clear while she was watching the 2020 Olympic games. She saw Simon Biles remove herself from the competition and Katie Ledecky do everything in her power to hide her disappointment following a lackluster race. It was then that Lauren felt deeply called to serve athletes.
Her dedication to that calling was cemented when Michael Phelps told the world “Competition is overwhelming. We just want someone to listen to us. Someone to support us mentally through the pressure-filled moments.”

So Real

Lori’s approach is so honest. You can trust her to point out what is underneath what we say, what we believe, and even what we hope for. Let’s learn how to face the truth inside of ourselves. Lori helps us do that with deep compassion.

Mindful Midlife Crisis ,

Leaves Me Feeling Much Better than Fine!

Lori does a great job if interviewing people with an array of experiences and backgrounds, and she also keeps these conversations concise so that it’s an easy morning commute listen. The meditations are my favorite part of the show because they’re so easily accessible and they have a different themes that help with whatever I’m feeling at that moment. Tune in!

Tapfish2 is awesome ,

I’ve learned fine is not enough and I meditate

Since I’ve been working with Lori I have realized that I was confusing fine with great.

I now realize that I have to always be leveling up and striving for great.

I also mediate daily after some prodding from Lori and this alone has changed my life for the better.
