Omar Usman is a founding member of Qalam Institute, the Islamic Seminary and learning institution based in Dallas, TX and Muslim Matters, an online magazine that began in 2007 as a collaboration between various bloggers and Shuyukh in order to bring attention to issues faced by Muslims in the West, of which he is the current executive director of.  He teaches Islamic seminars across the US including Khateeb Workshop and Fiqh of Social Media. He has served in varying administrative capacities for multiple national and local Islamic organizations.
