Join avid anglers Katrina and Guy as they take you on a week-by-week tour of the amazing fish who call the waters of Alaska home. They and their guests will walk you through what makes each species unique and special, how each one lives and feeds, and even how to catch, clean, and cook them. A proud production of the Alaska office of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, this is your audio angling almanac and guide to All the Fish!
This hardy Alaska fish comes in a tiny package and can breathe air!
Ugly-pretty and quite tasty, learn more about the burbot! We like them a Lota lota.
This toothy piscivore is found throughout Alaska (even in southcentral Alaska where they’ve been introduced illegally). They’re an important subsistence fish for Alaska Native Peoples and rural residents and a popular sport fish. Their jam is ambush hunting. They lie in wait for prey and then explode from the weeds or from behind a toppled tree or a submerged log.
Direct from Alaska, it's Fish of the Week! Episodes begin January 4th, 2021.
