So frustrating!

This is the most frustrating show. You present yourselves as a data podcast and then immediately make the most obvious, kindergarten mistakes. The question is if people who tell pollsters they are not voting for Trump and then vote for him. Period. What this episode does is take a step removed to assuming there’s one reason why people would do such a thing and then refute that motivation. That’s not science. There are other reasons than “social desirability” why someone would say one thing and do another. One possibility: a giant middle finger to media and politics. That might not be the case either. But if you want to examine a hypothesis, you examine it directly, not one of a myriad of factors that might underlie the hypothesis if it were true.
