'Definitive' Fleetwood Mac Documentary on the way

Fleetwood Mac is set to receive its first fully authorized documentary, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Frank Marshall for Apple Original Films. An upcoming untitled documentary will feature new interviews with surviving Fleetwood Mac members Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie, along with archival and never-before-seen footage of the late Christine McVie, who passed away in 2022. Directed by Frank Marshall, the five-time Oscar nominee behind the project, the film marks the first fully authorized documentary with participation from all surviving members. A release date has not been announced. The documentary will chronicle the band’s 50+ year journey, including their formation in 1974, record-breaking albums like Rumours and Tusk, and iconic hits such as “Rhiannon” and “Landslide.” It will delve into their personal struggles and creative resilience, exploring how their chaotic relationships shaped their music, resulting in timeless masterpieces that have sold over 220 million records worldwide. “This will be a film about the music and the people who created it,” said Marshall. Producer Nicholas Ferrall added, “Fleetwood Mac are a musical phenomenon. We are honored to explore the unique talents of each member and the magic they created together.” The film promises to reveal exclusive footage and interviews, showcasing the alchemy that held the band together despite internal and external pressures, while celebrating their enduring legacy.
