Phenomenal Podcast!

I stumbled across this podcast as I searched for podcast related to budgeting and debt. I am so glad that I found this particular podcast. Tom is so relatable and the fact that he too has experienced debt as well - definitely makes his approach more inviting. I have listened to the majority of his podcasts as well as browsed his website to listen to his content on there as well. I am so grateful that I found his podcast. I’ve started to incorporate several of his suggestions - such as shopping at Dollar Tree/Aldi more and including my 7 year old in my finances for learning purposes. Thank you. Thank you. :)

Awesome! Keeps me inspired!

I like this podacst because it is only about debt and debt-related matters--what I want to listen to. Other personal finance podcasts deal with many other topics and I have to cherry pick the ones that are interesting to me. Since I am all-out gung-ho about getting out of debt, this is the podcast for me!

Excellent, supportive podcast for people getting out of debt

I stumbled on this podcast just before an awful, unplanned expense came up and, honestly it was exactly what i needed. Its in a short format and covers a different topic each episode. I think what makes this special is the way Tom approaches the realities of getting out of debt in an economy that runs off of it. Many episodes revolve around learning to rethink your options, to stop and evaluate. And he reminds us all that we are not alone and we can learn new ways of thinking, and that debt can be overcome. There are many fantastic podcasts on getting out of debt, but for me, this is the one i go to when I need inspiration and solutions.

The best Debt Podcast

I legit was looking for a new podcast about debt management and typed in “Debt” this was the 2nd show that came up next to Dave Ramsey... I was in amazes the second I started listening... Your voice is on point and you have a great way of how you do your podcast. I am so pumped up for 2020 and getting out of debt. You have gave some amazing tips and I started off at the current episode and then went back and started to actually listen to every episode from the start. You know so much and explore so many techniques that I am happy to know I’m not alone and can’t wait to conquer 2020 and become Debt Free!!!!!!

Starting over with a purpose

Hi Tom,
For the past several months I was listening to the Dave Ramsey show and stumbled across your show and decided to listen. I was very impressed, because I feel as though if I called in to the other show I would be yelled at for being stupid and that would only make matters worse. Your show allows me to breathe, and know that although I have been stupid, I can change, and I can turn this situation around. I like that you suggest different ways of tackling debt, and not just a cut and dry method. I have paid off some credit cards, and have chosen the snowball method because I need to feel some relief sooner rather than later. Thank you for helping me see a much better future. I am 59 and I feel born again!

Love your podcast Tom!

One thing I love about this podcast and about Tom (our awesome host) is that he is real, wise and does his homework before just spitting words in to a microphone, I can tell he has a plan for what he is going to say and the point he wants to make on each topic, which can lead to a great lesson in finance and life.

I found myself making bad choices in my early twenties and in denial of any consequences. My life was about fun, partying and vacating from the real world. Credit card debt, rent debt and eventually medical debt got overwhelming... I found myself in a darker place with no seeming way to get out.

I decided the summer of 2018 I was done and ready to grow up. I quit my retail job, broke off a toxic relationship, moved out of my (too expensive) apartment, started working out and eating healthy, started going to church and finally started getting the papers together for a debt pay off program with a non-profit. That took two months just to get the papers.

To shorten up the story- I am finally seeing the end after getting a nice pay raise, faith has played a key role in this, along with budgeting and discipline. Tom’s podcast has helped me guide through some of the tougher stuff (have gone back and listened to older podcasts) and he’s helped me answer questions I may have.

Thank you Tom!
