I Love You More Than Gam Gam <3

Dear Foot Stuff and internet trolls, I want you to understand the lengths I've gone to to give my SECOND five star review (the true 10 star rating). I spent a solid 4 minutes creating a new email account, opened iTunes and searched for the podcast then wrote this review. This podcast is so special to me I've now written to you guys more times that I've written to my own grandmother, to be fair Gam Gam is a racist alcoholic who used to be known as the 47th high peak as all the ADK locals took turns to climb on if ya catch my drift...but that's besides the point. The point is you guys rock, thanks for all you do and congrats on all your growth. I look forward to each and every episode!!!

The only podcast deserving of six stars!

What can I say other than simply this is one of the best.....nay, THE best podcast out there. The gang are consistently funny, entertaining and educational. Anytime a new podcast is released it is easily the highlight of my day! Keep up the amazing work!

Blue Blaze Home Run

Guys,

Listened to your Blue Blaze episode “Where You’ll Find Me” last week. It was EXCELLENT!!!!!!

Your discussion and dissection of the events leading up to, during and after Kate Matrosova’s fateful hike was riveting. In recognizing that Kate was not a naïve or thrill seeking noob, you respectfully honored her memory while at the same time highlighting some clear and evidence based “heuristic traps” that most certainly contributed to her death (shout out to Caitlin Kelly for educating us about heuristic traps).

In particular, I loved how each of you looked inward from your own experiences and risk analysis while in the back country and shared how some might have turned out differently but for the luck of the draw (can you say Tyler “hypothermic” Socash)? I tend to do most of my hiking solo and I found myself taking the same inward look right along with you.

The lessons in Kate’s death you so artfully brought to your listeners was to remind us all to stay humble and vigilant, no matter how seasoned or skilled we think we are.

I bought and read the book in one sitting. I’ve also recommended it to my hiker and non-hiker friends.

Lastly, I’ve been listening to the Pod since you started, mostly because @dr_science_phd and @celiafromwork are the true talents.
But you guys hit it out of the park with this episode.

Well done!!! 10-stars.

You can now call me a friend of the Pod.
