What about God’s Word?

Why are your first remarks about Spurgeon being on the wall instead of the cross? Why do you talk about what “you” look for instead of what God looks for?” (See David’s calling) Assuming sexual sin as the reason when a man “declines” the office is unfair. Twice in 1 Timothy, scripture speaks of the elder being married to 1 woman. Scripture clearly teaches here that the ability to manage a family is the primary proving ground/evidence of being eligible. A man may look at the evidence regarding his ability to manage his family and prayerfully come to the conclusion that he is not a worthy candidate. You talk about Biblical qualifications, but you never clearly outlined what Biblical qualifications are according to God’s Word. I would hope that a seminary would be more focused on what God has to say on the topic versus man and his feelings.
