Fort Laramie is a Western drama that depicted life at old Fort Laramie during the 19th Century. When Norman Macdonnell created FORT LARAMIE in late 1955, he made it clear to his writers that historical accuracy was essential to the integrity of the series. Correct geographic names, authentic Indian practices, military terminology, and utilizing actual names of the original buildings of the real fort, was insisted upon. So, when the radio characters referred to the sutler’s store (which is what the trading post was called prior to 1870), the surgeon’s quarters, Old Bedlam (the officers’ quarters) or the old bakery, they were naming actual structures in the original fort.

Awesome Listening!
Seeing that I was born in 1952, I doubt if this was Radio Program was available for my 4 year old entertainment. At 71 I can visualize it quite clearly. The pristine attention of detail, bird’s singing, horse’s snorting, boots on hardwood floors and crunch of gravel.
It must have been quite the sight seeing US Calvary galloping 2 a breast Flags furling in the winds.
The Majesty of Tribal Chiefs.
Livings in Albuquerque,NM we have 19 tribes and 4 Indian Nations all around us.

Awesome!
These are amazing! Thanks Andrew! I’m a big fan!
Good listening
My husband and I both enjoy Ft. Laramie. I had been listening to Andrew's daily radio western podcast since it's inception. I appreciate his efforts to present and preserve radio programs. He chooses some programs that are traditional western fare but then throws in some "darker" radio fare like Gunsmoke and Fort Laramie.
