I've had the opportunity to attend her presentation about workcations and thought it might be a good idea to share it with the world!

#32: Storytelling as a Content Creation Pillar – Arrey Bate

#32: Storytelling as a Content Creation Pillar – Arrey Bate

Arrey Bate is one of my new business friends and after hearing about his story and his accomplishments on the Cameroonian market, I had to invite him to the podcast!
Arrey helps business owners get clients through social media marketing. He primarily works with businesses in the education industry. We talk about outsourcing tasks that we're not that good at or that are not key to your business. Also, he has a membership and his members find it so helpful that ALL of the founding ones are still in there, which I thought was remarkable.
However, the most important part of the conversation has to do with storytelling; Arrey thinks about his content creation process through the lens of storytelling and sharing his own experiences, thus connecting even more with his audience.
    Takeaways:
Service-based businesses have a higher chance of success online due to higher profit margins and lower investment requirements.Outsource tasks that you're not good at or that are not key to your business.Replicate the things that work.Storytelling is a powerful tool in content creation and building a community.

Corinne McKay, a successful freelancer with over 20 years of experience, shares her journey and insights into running a sustainable business.

She discusses the importance of mentors, establishing authority, and being open about business details.
With Corinne being one of MY mentors for years, it was a joy to get yet another chance to learn from her personally.

Corinne emphasizes the need for freelancers to focus on their own quality of life and happiness rather than obsessing over a specific income figure. She also shares her approach to downtime and maintaining work-life balance.

    Takeaways:
Building a sustainable freelance business requires consistency through time (and applying the "Always Be Marketing" rule). Joining professional associations and establishing a professional image can contribute to success in freelancing. Sharing business details and being open about income can establish authority and build trust with other freelancers. Here's where you can connect with Corinne:

#30: Transform Your Business With an Accountability Buddy – Chiara Vecchi

#30: Transform Your Business With an Accountability Buddy – Chiara Vecchi

Chiara Vecchi is not only a translator and a budding copywriter, she is also my accountability buddy and one of the best people I know :)

I really wanted to share our journey of becoming and staying accountability buddies, as well as the benefits of having a supportive partnership in business.

In this conversation, we share how our accountability relationship started and evolved over time, and the positive impact it has had on our businesses. We also discuss the qualities of a good accountability buddy and the importance of trust, support, and collaboration.

Chiara shares her experience with previous accountability buddies and the challenges they faced.

We also provide practical tips for finding and maintaining a successful accountability partnership.

    Takeaways:
Having an accountability buddy can provide a different perspective and valuable insights in terms of business. A good accountability buddy is someone who is supportive, trustworthy, and not jealous or envious. Sharing updates and goals regularly with an accountability buddy can help maintain motivation and focus. It's important to set realistic and achievable goals and break them down into smaller tasks. Viewing colleagues as sources of inspiration rather than competitors can foster a positive and collaborative mindset. Here's where you can connect with Chiara:

#29: A Comprehensive Guide to E-Mail Marketing – Dominik Metličić

Dominik Metličić, an e-mail marketing consultant from Split, Croatia, shares invaluable tips on all things e-mail marketing.

He focuses on growing e-mail lists with lead magnets and converting subscribers into paying customers through automated e-mail sequences. He emphasizes the importance of asking questions in e-mails to encourage engagement and build trust with subscribers.

Dominik recommends using e-mail campaigns as part of a larger funnel strategy, where social media and websites are used to capture e-mail addresses, and e-mail marketing is used to convert subscribers into customers. He also discusses the effectiveness of different lead magnets, such as courses, quizzes, challenges, webinars, and checklists.

    Takeaways:
Strategic placement of links, compelling copywriting, and congruency between subject lines and hyperlinked text can increase click-through rates. Having a strong brand, offer, and audience is essential for successful e-mail marketing. Use a combination of media formats, such as plain text, PDFs, infographics, videos, and audio, to cater to different learning and content consumption preferences. Here's where you can connect with Dominik:

#28: How I Went About My Podcast Rebrand

#28: How I Went About My Podcast Rebrand

Well, hello, and welcome to my first solo episode in English!

I wanted to share my experience with the podcast rebrand (or ~makeover~), how it came about, and what I've learned along the way.

I hope you'll enjoy the episode, and feel free to message me on LinkedIn if you have any thoughts or questions!

    Takeaways:

It's okay to change your mind. It's okay to broaden your scope (instead of narrowing it). Find a way to make any shift work in your favor (i.e., celebrate it!)._______________________________________
