Learn what it really takes to be a successful freelancer
Meet Marian, the non-sales writer who charges $115/hr on Upwork (with Marian Schembari)
A lot of people think that being a copywriter means you spend all your time “writing to persuade.” Stuff like, “Buy now! This offer won’t last long!” — that sort of thing. That stereotype is wrong, and it’s quickly becoming outdated thanks to people like my friend Marian. Marian makes a living doing copywriting for […]

How a non-US Upworker raised his rate by 6x (with Oleg Starko)
Every month thousands of people ask me the same question: “Can you do well at freelancing — even freelance writing — if English isn’t your first language?” Everyone who asks that should meet my friend Oleg. Oleg doesn’t live in the US. English isn’t even his second language — it’s his third. But none […]

This is how you get great clients on Upwork (with Summer Felix)
If you want to catch a raccoon, you need to think like one. Same thing with online freelancing: To get great clients on Upwork, you need to understand how a great client thinks. Today I’m going to introduce you to one. (A great Upwork client, that is; the raccoon is scheduled for a later episode.) […]

He taught himself web design…now he charges $80/hr on Upwork (with Tsavo Neal)
If you can do freelance graphic design for $80/hr, your life changes. You don’t worry about getting a job. Or keeping a job. People need you, and they’re willing to pay. You might think you can’t be an $80/hr freelance graphic designer. That’s OK. Tsavo Neal didn’t either. In college, he majored in history. He […]

How to make $130/hr on Upwork (with Josh Margulies)
A few years ago I taught my brother how to be an online freelancer. He did well. In less than a year he went from having never heard of freelancing to being a freelance copywriter who charges $130 an hour. “OK,” you might say, “Anyone can say they charge some high amount.” Great point. I […]

Death of the starving artist (with Mike Nguyen)
I didn’t “find my passion” until I was 34. If only I could have learned about online freelancing in my 20s…my entire life would have been different. That’s what Mike did…While his friends were graduating college and getting 9-5 office jobs, Mike decided to make a living on Upwork. Doing what he loves. He rejected […]

Insightful and helpful
As usual with Danny's podcasts, they have insightful and helpful information based on first-hand experience.
DIFFERENT and BETTER than other freelancing podcasts...
I've listened to a bunch of freelancing podcasts, but they pretty much all seem to do the same thing - they all interview the same handful of successful freelancers who aren't really freelancers anymore, because they've become freelancing gurus and are now "making the rounds" on all the podcasts so they can build their freelancing guru businesses. What's cool about the Freelance To Win podcast is he interviews real people, who are all in different phases of their freelancing careers, and he really digs deep to pull out the most helpful nuggets, whether they be mindsets, strategies, tactics or other stuff. Highly recommended!
