On the 22nd May 2017, 14 year old Freya Lewis joined her best friend Nell to see their favourite popstar, Ariana Grande, perform live at the Manchester Arena. Then, as they made their way home, Freya was just ten meters away when a terrorist detonated the bomb which would take 22 lives, including Nell’s. After recovering from 29 separate injuries, Freya went on to raise over £60,000 for the hospital which took care of her, as well as writing a book, telling her story. Now 17 years old, Freya opens up about how she takes positives from what happened, how her life has changed, and what her aspirations are for the future.
