Good Morning Aurora

Friday | 10/9/2020 | Music Friday on GMA: Matthew Ripsch Jams Out

It was another great music day today on the show and we were joined by Matthew Ripsch! Only a Freshman in high school, Matthew has an old soul combined with great music taste. Recently he played at Wyckwood House on First Friday and that's how we became familiar with him. Hailing from Yorkville, he's played at Law Office and many other venues. It was very fascinating to watch Matthew play, sing and inform us on the guitar today. We also spoke about music styles, favorite guitarists and what his plans are for the future. The current pandemic has upended the lives and plans of many musicians, including Matthew. We do hope that things turn around for Matthew and he continues doing what he loves, making great music!

Shouts for the day go out to all the teachers and educators out there. Extra shouts go to all parents helping keep the dreams and aspirations alive. Aurora Downtown, Chicano's Times, Aurora Public Art, the Aurora Public Library and the Aurora Township. Don't forget that Monday 12th is another pop-up food pantry hosted by the City of Aurora. It's also breast cancer awareness month & domestic violence month as well. Free leaf collection begins on the 19th and ends December 4th so rake those leaves up and get them hauled away for free. Community listening sessions are also taking place, the next one is scheduled for October 15th at St. Therese Church (271 N. Farnsworth). Be motivated, safe & blessed this weekend. We'll see you all on Monday morning for more great news and interviews!
