    • Film Reviews

In which the Mister and I check out PAST LIVES (2023), which is currently available on Paramount+, through your local library and the Hoopla app but you can also buy/rent on Prime Video.  From writer/director Celine Song, the film follows two childhood friends on the cusp of a budding romance when suddenly the young girl's family makes the decision to leave South Korea and ultimately squashing any sort of relationship. Over the years they would occasionally reach out to each other but decades later, Hae Sung (Teo Yoo) decides to come visit his friend, Nora (Greta Lee), a writer who is now married (John Magaro as Arthur). In the time of his visit, Nora and Hae Sung must grapple with their past and the viewer is immersed in a love story of sorts where time, regret, longing and destiny all collide.  This film clocks in at 1 h 45 m and is rated PG-13.  Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
