Friendship In Recovery | An Interview with Clare & Kathy: A Lifetime of Friendship and Facing Recovery Together Recovery Hour

    • Mental Health

Hailing from the shores of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Clare Garrity and Kathy Robbins are two women in long term recovery from alcohol and food disorders. They found a little more than they bargained for while attending a women’s recovery retreat 34 years ago…. Each other!
The depth of their remarkable friendship runs the gamut of reciting The Hail Mary Prayer out loud, to spending time at a nude beach in the south of France. They have traveled the world together and have a deep spiritual connection they both treasure.
Listen as these women share their wisdom of recovery (Clare 34 years alcohol free and 30 years free of bulimia; Kathy 32 years of sobriety and 25 years recovering from a food disorder), while keeping things light by reminiscing about stories of the past… nude beaches, nude calendars, ex-husbands, Mercedes Benz joy rides (police and all), 62 mile bike rides (yes, I said 62 mile bike rides) and much much more!
Kathy likens Clare to Oprah’s BFF Gail, while Clare considers Kathy the Thelma to her Louise. Both agreeing Recovery is one of the best decisions made in their life!
This fun and inspiring interview is wrapped up in a pretty bow for our Host Lori Windfeldt, as the ladies each give their advice for her future with an impromptu Coaching session.
Cheers to #friendshipinrecovery
