Not exactly objective.

If they like a movie, they excuse all the historical inaccuracies. If they don’t, they rip it apart. I’d like to see a podcast that breaks things down objectively and historically instead of based on whether or not the reviewers enjoyed the film’s script or acting.

Room for Improvement

The slogan for this podcast implies that it really gets into the nitty-gritty of movie costumes and historical accuracy, but in the episodes I’ve listened to, the costume discussion is very limited. The group seems to prefer discussing the films' themes and actors, but I would rather hear what they have to say about costuming—I can get film reviews from so many other places. It also irks me that the podcasters seem afraid to appear too educated. When they do discuss history, they usually get some details wrong, like dates and names, and the show's style is more “hang out with wine and listen to girlfriends ramble” than informative. I don't see why they can't be casual and fun and also get their research in order. I think the speakers are knowledgeable, but they don't seem to have an easy time sharing what they know. I was disappointed.

What’s with the political correctness?

We get it, you’re feminists who like to bash men from time to time. We don’t need to be reminded.
