From Abused to Empowered Hashing Out the Law

    • Business

Welcome to Season 2 of Hashing Out the Law, the podcast where we discuss and hash out legal issues and/or topics. I am your host Arash Hashemi.

On this episode I will be talking to Nikki DuBose. Nikki is a model, author and advocate. She is also an ambassador for Patrice Kids, a 501c3 charity dedicated to educating on the signs and symptoms of child sexual abuse. Her debut memoir, Washed Away: From Darkness to Light, was released in 2016 and soon after translated into French with publishing house Editions Du Rocher. She is a survivor of 17 years of abuse and mental illness and believes that all people can go on to recover and feel empowered sexually. Nikki was one of the first models in the world to help pass laws for protecting models and sexually abused children. She was an expert reviewer for Harvard STRIPED's teaching and student lesson program which focused on modeling and eating disorders. Nikki has a background in psychology and is studying interior design. Her poetry book, Daydreams of a Canvas, will be out later this year. (Recorded June 9, 2020)
