Parallel 42 Updates Flow with New Features

Parallel 42 Updates Flow with New Features

A set of new features has just been released for Parallel 42's Flow product for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The biggest new feature for Flow (All) is the new 'key fob' widget that enables you to interact with hangar doors and other interactive scenery elements. It has been updated with their FFOX scenery but is open to other developers to work with as well.
In the Essentials and Pro versions of the tool, you will now see a new 'Info Text' widget that displays sim data in the top-left corner. Speaking of the Pro version, you will be able to also see a new Streamer Bar, which elegantly shows new sim data. Furthermore, there is now ai_licia support with smarter flight data. There are some other new features and improvements, all detailed in the changelog below.
You can update Flow, Flow Essentials and Flow Pro from Parallel 42's website now. Other stores will update accordingly.
    Changelog
"Key Fob" widget (ALL): Control pre-configured interactive scenery elements from your Flow Wheel. Our updated FFOX (Trent Palmer's Desert Oasis) scenery will feature fully interactive hangar doors. (If you are a scenery or aircraft developer and want to integrate this Key Fob concept, please get in touch. It's free and easy to integrate!)
"Info Text" widget (Essentials and Pro): Similar to what was available in the FSX/P3D days. This displays sim data in the top left corner.
"Streamer Bar" widget (Pro): Show your viewers your current altitude, speed, heading, and more in a customizable overlay. This displays sim data in an elegant way, the way a streamer overlay would be expected to look!
ai_licia bridge widget (Pro): Your AI companion for Twitch just got smarter with Flight Data. (Learn more at www.novasquare.io)
Dead Reckoning widget (Pro): Navigate the skies like a caveman, with Deduced Reckoning aka Dead Reckoning. This widget provides the essential tools required. Find this in the HUD category. To learn more visit: https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2009/august/flight-training-magazine/dead-reckoning
Ability to set a widget's UID through the script editor. This is useful for ensuring auto-update functionality for your widgets.
Ability to turn off the Flow "Smart Delay" in Flow Pro when loading into a flight. A switch is available in Settings. Beneficial for users with high-end PCs.
Portal Widget can now handle 5 digit ICAO for teleportation.

Majestic Software Provides Statement on Dash 8 for MSFS Progress

Majestic Software Provides Statement on Dash 8 for MSFS Progress

For a long time now, we have not heard from Majestic Software regarding their products coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team is known for their high-fidelity Dash 8 Q400 on FSX/P3D and many have clamoured to have it come to the modern flight simulator. A new statement has finally appeared on their site where they give some insight into progress.
During this lengthy silence, Majestic has been working on many technological advanacements that will enable them to push the envelope even further than before. They said that system complexity "continuously raises the bar" and the engine allows them to enter a new "realm of visual capabilities." Whilst systems have progressed nicely, 3D modelling came to a bit of a halt as the 3D designer was no longer able to continue working with them.
A new team is being planned to ensure that work can be finalised.
In a first, the team confirmed that the Dash 8 Q400, Q300 and "very likely" the Q200 to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Initially, the team thought they would be able to "port" the plane over from older platforms to MSFS, but soon realised that the best logical step was to create the vast majority of things from scratch. This includes vector graphics, the visual model, and flight dynamics. Majestic has stated that they have re-worked all of the EFIS screens, and introduced a new EFB (with Navigraph Charts integration).
In terms of timeframes, Majestic are trying to set expectations for the community that we shouldn't expect anything until at least 2025. That is, of course, if "everything goes to plan". There won't be regular updates, but Majestic will share things as progress is made.
Finally, Majestic thanks the community for their patience and support as they look ahead to bringing the planes to Microsoft Flight Simulator [2020]/2024.

iniBuilds Teases New Upcoming Airport Scenery

iniBuilds Teases New Upcoming Airport Scenery

iniBuilds has taken to their social media channels to tease their next upcoming airport scenery.
Alongside a single image of what appears to be a cargo loading area, the team wrote: It's going to be an exciting week for scenery at iniBuilds! Let's kick it off with a teaser for one of our upcoming airports!
    Any guesses?
Although there is minimal detail to go off from the picture, the logo for a company called Siginon Aviation is visible in the teaser image. In the real world, Signinon is a freight forwarding service based out of Nairobi, leading many users in the iniBuilds discord and the wider community to speculate that the scenery is likely to be that of the Kenyan capital.
FSElite's team of sleuths has also been analysing satellite imagery and Google Street View images and believes that the building depicted is one of Siginon's buildings at the airport, located at these coordinates.
Regardless of what and where the scenery is, judging by iniBuilds' statement we won't have to wait very long to find out for definite!
