    92 - About That Acts 29 Call

In this episode, I answer some questions that have been raised and provide clarifications regarding Episode 91 “The Truth Behind Why Acts 29 Removed Our Church.” There have now even been certain lies told about our release of the phone call which I tackle. I give an overview of how Acts 29 is structured. I dive into some of the leaders in place today and make some general observations about problems in the network.

91 - The Truth Behind Why Acts 29 Removed Our Church

91 - The Truth Behind Why Acts 29 Removed Our Church

On January 17, 2023, Acts 29 removed our church from the network without warning. We had been members in good standing in Acts 29 for 12 years. There was no indication that this action would be taken against our church. It was a unilateral decision made by the board of the network. The removal was announced to us over a call and no written documentation was provided. There is no process of appeal.

In this episode, Matt Patrick and I share not just our experience in being removed from the network but also the audio of the phone call where they kicked our church out. We felt burdened to release this audio as lies have been told to prospective Acts 29 churches regarding our removal. Given the state of the network, we feel it is our responsibility to provide transparency to our brothers currently pastoring Acts 29 affiliated churches about the precarious position in which their fellowship rests.

90 - Aaron Edwards on Hypocrisy in the Academy and the Pulpit as a Bulwark

90 - Aaron Edwards on Hypocrisy in the Academy and the Pulpit as a Bulwark

In this episode with Aaron Edwards, we discuss his recent firing from Cliff College. Aaron has been a professor teaching on missiology and preaching for 7 years at a self-described evangelical college in the UK. In February of 2023, he sent out a tweet on homosexuality that eventually led to him getting cancelled. Listen as we explore the events leading up to this, the importance of engaging Western culture today, the hypocrisy of many in the academy, and the need for bold pastors today.

88 - Jerry Bowyer on Jesus, Economics, and Social Justice

In this conversation with Jerry Bowyer, we start out discussing presuppositionalism and Thomism. I suggest that we can call be friends but my neo-Thomist friends might not agree. We dive into the topic of money particularly as it pertains to spending money at businesses that openly hate God. Jerry shares about spending money as a matter of conscience. We close talking about Christians starting parallel financial institutions.

87 - Clifford Humphrey on Counterfeit Leadership and Compelling Excellence

87 - Clifford Humphrey on Counterfeit Leadership and Compelling Excellence

In this conversation with Clifford Humphrey, we discuss leadership. Clifford proposes that much of what passes for leadership today is better considered management. Everything from generalship, wealth management, to rhetoric, is considered leadership today. What might it look like to have a deeper understanding of leadership? How can we develop leaders with moral vision rather than just managers and rhetoricians?

Great content

Enjoying this new-found podcast. I usually listen to podcasts on 1.5-2x speed but Chase talks so fast at times I have to slow it to half speed! Worth the time though. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great podcast!

Chase is a great thinker, combining a meticulous concern for truth with a graceful (dare I say, winsome?) style.
