FUNC YOU UP! covers the best in wellness, nutrition, and functional medicine in twenty minutes or less with hosts, Michelle Miller, Functional Medicine Nutritionist, and Kendra Bova, Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner.

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach that engages both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.1 It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, personalized functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.

Great podcast, but needs a new tagline

I really enjoy this podcast and the information shared. I wish they’d update the tagline about it being 8 minutes or less, though. That doesn’t feel accurate anymore and yet it’s the first thing listeners hear.

Listen up!

I absolutely love this podcast. It gives me so much information in such a short amount of time so you’re not bored and having to go back every 30 seconds. This podcast has helped me to take a second look about my physical and mental health that I didn’t even know I should be looking at!

Chronic Illness/Chronic Listener.

Long time listener, first time reviewer. I am so glad my friend told me about this pod. I have learned so much about my health - physically and mentally from their work. I feel like I finally understand what my doctors are talking about, and don’t feel we lost in the mix of options to manage my asthma, mast cell disease, and ongoing GI issues. Michelle, Diana, and Kendra really break things down so you can easily digest them, and not feel overwhelmed.
