Welcome to Functional Pharmacy, where we are putting the function back into pharmacy.
In addition to my conventional pharmacy studies I have received by Certification In Clinical Nutrition, the art and science of compounding, Reiki, kinesiology / muscle testing, with continued studies in mind-body medicine, mindfulness, meditation, yoga, homeopathy and more.
As pharmacists the experiment of chemical only medicine has run its course, patients are looking for natural solutions for their health, practitioners are looking towards natural and integrative care to differentiate the practices.
Happy National Pharmacist Month!
What an interesting and impactful time for pharmacy. Things are changing, and in many ways, going back to what once was.

And remember...pharmacy is still an opportunity, not a liability...
So tune in, while I share with you the possibility of pharmacy as well as some personal anecdotes and stories from my path of pharmacy- both past and present.
Maybe its time to get into your body and out of your mind? And...does it matter when you exercise and meditate?
Hey folks! This is kind of a 3 part episode in just minutes, so enjoy!
Get into your body and out of your mind.
The Power of rhythms for rest and repair and performance
Does it matter when we exercise and meditate?
We are mind and emotions, we are body, we are spirit
We must feed our:
-mental and emotional health
-our spiritual health
-our physical health
We must feed and nourish all- it’s a balancing act and if we ignore one for too long, we fall out of balance.
“To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear”. -Buddha
We are rhythmic beings, and when we honor certain micro rhythms throughout the day- we can maintain focus, concentration and energy...
Recognize how you feel- and adjust what you do, when you exercise, when you meditate around that- for ultimate presence and being
The Macro Debate
Protein, fats and carbs, the good, the bad, and the beautiful. Let's get this discussion rolling - as it seems everyone has an opinion, so lets here mine ;) My take as you will see, is there is no one size fits all approach, all can be good, and all can be bad, and the goal is for metabolic flexibility...so...on with the show!
Everyday lab tests to optimize for greater health and reduce risk of disease
For patients and practitioners, come on in and let's talk about every day lab tests, not fancy, any doc can order, insurance usually covers...and how to optimize them for greater health and reduce the risk of disease.
Let's face it, the "average" that comes across on lab values is often the "average" of a generally unhealthy society...we can do better.
So tune on in and lets talk about how we can decipher and improve upon tests such as blood glucose, thyroid, lipids and more.
Pillars of Support when things are going great, and ESPECIALLY when things aren’t so great
Do you have a system, a ritual, ways of being which I impart to your daily living schedule, for health, wellness of mind and of body? Like many of us- when times aren’t going so free and easy- often we might allow one (or more) of these pillars to fall to the wayside just at a time when we really need them.
In this episode I will share with you what I consider my core Pillars to Health and Wellness of both Mind and Body, and how I implement them into my life.
