Interesting tech talk for non techies

Alexa and Steve break things down to a level that even people with the most neanderthal-esque understanding of tech will understand. Lots of insights on how tech impacts everything.

Sound quality is awful; content is great

It’s almost like Bob and Steve are competing to see who can have the worse production values, who can have the most uneven sound, and who can introduce the most distracting background noise, from sirens to barking dogs to people talking on the beach nearby (when Bob was in the Mediterranean). If their discussions weren’t so interesting they would have run me off long ago. So one star for audio quality and five for content. I guess that adds up to three stars.

Loose on details and bad audio quality

I love the quality of IEEE Spectrum articles but this podcast is the opposite of that: two hosts casually chatting about things that are sometimes wrong and misinformed. One episode was a political rant. I rate my podcasts on how much I have to listen through noise to get quality and the one finally got me to unsubscribe because the inaccuracies and ranting overshadow the nuggets of value. I cut the guests slack on the audio quality but I suspect the hosts are just using a computer microphone which sounds bad.
