    • Society & Culture

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #495 is an hour of inspired, visionary acoustic improvisational music recorded by the Gaea Star Band, featuring Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele and Native flute, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drums.  Tracked live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts in June of 2020, today’s show begins with the mystical, grooving “Into The Realm Of Serenity”, a jazzy jam with imaginative grooves and an inspiring lyric from Mariam.  “Keep On Walking” is a lovely minor ballad that expresses unity and mutual support, and “Standing In The Rain” is a driving, pretty folk song carried along by Mariam’s chiming ukulele.  “Manekayo” is an upbeat Hawaiian flavored song to the night sky that builds on piano climaxes and Mariam’s sparkling eight string ukulele with a bed of steady congas from Craig.  “Just Walk Away” is a classic song from Mariam, presented here as a staid folk rock ballad, and “Everywhere The People Are Changing” frames the Covid 19 pandemic as an opportunity for unity and change set to a minor folk groove and “Thank You For The Year” rises out of a lovely, plaintive native flute solo above lush piano to grow into a majestic gospel ballad.
