These women do important work. I suggest their podcast to anyone looking to understand how current events link together, and how trump and trumpism rose in America. Thank you for this podcast!

The Unvarnished Truth

I wish this podcast didn't have to exist. I feel like the only reason we have Gaslit Nation is because MSM journalism has failed us so terribly (because of the way corporations are and how tech has enabled the race to the bottom) that Andrea and Sarah felt compelled to start this podcast to keep themselves safe and sane.

Sure, it lacks polish. It's very, very far from being over-produced like many other podcasts. There are no figurative bells and whistles here. They get ranty sometimes but I actually find it cathartic to listen to people who see the same problems I have been seeing and give voice to it. They get repetitive sometimes but that's more often because subjects they addressed earlier actually enter the mainstream months later and it would be weird if they didn't mention them again. It's weird hearing a criticism being a lack of focus or them not going in-depth because when I read or listen to others covering some of the same material I feel like others are pushing narratives or doing some extra conjectured spin job whereas Andrea and Sarah are citing actual examples from existing autocracies without all that shiny unhelpful stuff.

I wish I had the funds to support them (and access the extra content though I'm plenty fine with the free content) because responsible journalists ought to get paid decently. That's where a lot of our problems come from. And what gets me shaking my head a lot of the times is how a lot of what Andrea and Sarah are doing is simply following the money.

Thank you, Andrea and Sarah, for keeping me sane.

Please name season 2!!!!!!

Grateful for your work here. But jeez - do simple housekeeping like naming each season so I don’t have to scroll thru all of season 1 to find new episodes! It makes a very important podcast look like amateur hour.
