Endometriosis
Endometriosis affects approximately 176 million women in the world. It is a chronic illness of the reproductive system in which tissue that lines the uterus grows outside of the uterus -- causing excrutiatingly painful periods, heavy bleeding, fatigue, and often pain during sex.
Yet on average, women see seven health professionals before being referred to a specialist for endometriosis. It is still seen as a pain that women must simply endure.
