Doubts about Jesus and the Resurrection... we all have them. Thomas the Apostle had his doubts about the resurrected Christ as well. Like Thomas, Jesus invites us to bring our questions to Him - He is gracious and never pushes us away.
The Well-Known Stranger
Jesus meets two disciples on the road to Emmaus on Easter Sunday afternoon. They are processing the events of the weekend and dealing with disappointment - Jesus wasn’t who they wanted Him to be. They will see, however, as we can as well, that Jesus is much more!
The Joyful Catastrophe
Mary Magdalene’s grief was almost palpable that first Easter morning. She came expecting to see and smell death, but what she found instead was an empty tomb and Jesus who called her by name. He still calls people by name. Have you heard his voice?
Jesus, Our King
On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem as the King who will bring about salvation. However, the people that day wanted a different kind of salvation than the one Jesus was offering. He came to disrupt their expectations and point them to the peace and hope that would only come through a humble and gentle sovereign. He comes to us today with the same offer of salvation. Will we bend the knee to King Jesus?
