102 – Geek Life – Under The Flesh Issue 2

Geek Life is back baby! After our holiday hiatus we’re back with a vengeance as we return to the violent and entertaining world of Under The Flesh by G. Deltres, illustrated and lettered by J. L. Giles. UTF issue 1 introduced us to the nanobot infused super soldier Ruben Lobos and his girlfriend Dinah along with a whole group of survivors huddled up in a college library. We pick up where we left off last time with Ruben chasing after Dinah as she runs off into the zombie infested apocalypse. With some great zombie action, cheesy lines and sexy ladies, this grindhouse comic is really picking up steam. Be sure to check out UTF issue 1 and part of issue 2 on their homepage UnderTheFlesh.com, follow them on Twitter @Under_TheFlesh and like their facebook page facebook.com/UnderTheFlesh.Comic!

    101 – Geek Life – Long John

This week we spotlight the latest from D. Bethel of Eben07 fame. Lately he’s been working on this amazing comic called Long John. Bethel knocks it outta the park with issue one of Long John. This issue should be used as a guide on how to make a first issue. It’s got mystery, humor, character development and even some action sprinkled in for good measure, and here’s the kicker, it all works great! You really get a feel for John and the town of Poverty Flat by the end of the issue and we’ve barely scratched the surface of this rich world. Long John Walker, the most deadly gunfighter in California, is having a bad day. On the edge of Mono Lake in the Eastern Sierra, John wakes up alone, bleeding and in nothing but his long johns. What happened to his gang “The Johns”? Where is his gear? And why is he practically naked?! We highly recommend you read Long John on LongJohnComic.com and find out!

The Guns of Shadow Valley by Dave Wachter and James Andrew Clark is a beautiful comic about a posse of gunmen in the wild west who must come together and defend against a tribe of ghostly warriors, an advancing army led by a deranged Colonel, and the perils of Shadow Valley itself. Gao Shan ,

Thorough and critical.

This is a great comics podcast because they hosts are careful and detailed in their reviews. What they have to say is entertaining, they are knowledgable, and, best of all, they cover Indie books. I keep coming back for more.

AWESOME!

These guys do the most in depth reviews of comics I've ever heard on any podcast. It goes well beyond a 15 minute blurb, but they really do the books they review justice. Plus they are entertaining to listen to! Thanks for being champions for Indie comics!
