    Cops: Canceled

    Cops: Canceled

#255: The TV show Cops was just canceled after 33 years and it feels like we’re about to enter a new era of police representation in media. Fictional police stories influence what we know and how we feel about law enforcement, especially if you’ve had limited experience with the justice system. Support Geek Therapy on […]

    Resistance Stories

    Resistance Stories

#254: Is there a connection between growing up on great fictional stories of resistance and standing up against racism and police brutality? We think so. At the very least, Star Wars, The Matrix, and some of our other favorite resistance stories can help us talk about what’s happening today. Support Geek Therapy on Patreon and […]

    Enter the Heroverse

    Enter the Heroverse

#253: The latest run of DC Comics’ Dial H for Hero explores the concept of the Heroverse: The grand potential of every hero. Past, present, and future. And… Every villain. We then realize that the Geek Therapy Library could use a “concept” category for ideas like the Heroverse and Star Wars’ Force. Support Geek Therapy […]

    Humanizing Healthcare Workers

    Humanizing Healthcare Workers

#252: COIVD-19 patients are surrounded by healthcare workers with covered faces. As a way of humanizing themselves to patients, some workers are attaching smiling photos of themselves to their gear. We think it’s a great start and discuss how we try to humanize ourselves with our clients through our collectibles, and merch. Support Geek Therapy […]

Such Geekery!

I jumped into GT Radio cold, not realizing that the show was, in part, about the application of geek culture to psychology. So you'll understand my surprise when I discovered, to my delight, that the episodes covered everything from the meaning of heroism in the DC universe to the struggles of healthcare workers during COVID-19 to hobbies and money and the power of LEGOs!

All this is to say that GT Radio is a unique show in the geek podverse. And that makes it such a fun podcast to listen to. So if you need something about geekery that is also more grounded in the world, this is the show for you.

It's good and doing good

Even as someone who is more geek than therapist, I get a lot out of the content of this podcast. They do a really great job of speaking in lay person's terms and relating deep topics to so many of the things I'm interested in. Keep up the meaningful work!

What a lovely little podcast!

This podcast is a breath of fresh air. Great geeky content, great sound quality, really nice attention to structure and pacing, and it’s just so darn wholesome. Keep up the good work, can’t wait for the Disney pod.
