Gender, Behavior, and Perceptions

A study published in HBR in 2017 concluded that there was almost no perceptible difference in the behaviors of men and women from the extensive data that was collected and analyzed.  So if the behaviors are the same, what explains the differences in the outcomes, for example  of fewer women’s promotions into leadership?
