George Floyd and the Police Brutality Problem We Have 57 Podcast

Podcast 71:

George Floyd was murdered a few days ago and now Minneapolis is under civil unrest. Tensions with police have risen and everyone is looking for answers. The problem is no one knows where to find them. You can’t just say cops need to stop killing blacks because that is just the outcome of the problem. The root of the problem is that police officers are under trained. They need more training. How many people need to die before the people in power see that additional training is needed and that it needs to start happening now.

As a supporter of law enforcement it’s ok to support them and condemn police violence. It’s ok to say there is a problem and that it needs to be fixed.

Why do we respond to these tragic events with looting and violence. I understand that there is anger. I understand that people want justice. Looting and burning down buildings doesn’t fix the problem. It creates new problems. Burning down a police precinct is going to need to be fixed. The money that is going to be used to fix it is going to come from the tax payer.

In closing it’s important to understand that not all police officers are bad. There are a great number of them that do their job right and put their lives on for the citizens in their towns.
