Every club has their Mr. Dependable. For Manchester City in the late 1990s, that man was Gerard Wiekens. He excelled in the club's 1999 promotion season, before settling in comfortably at either centre-back or centre-midfield in the team that won back-to-back promotions to the Premier League. It culminated in perhaps his highlight at Maine Road - the final Manchester derby there, as he marked his fellow countryman Ruud van Nistelrooy out of the game. The Blue Moon Podcast's David Mooney travelled to the Netherlands to meet up with the former defender.
