Getting to know Bobby Hedglin-Taylor | Dance | Sexuality | Dementia | Podcast Interview The Selfish Podcast | Luke Greenheart

    • Self-Improvement

In this episode I connected with Bobby Hedglin-Taylor, a multi talented man who shared his life and story with me. He has been extremely active through his life, starting in humble beginnings in a small mountain community to moving to New York to follow his dreams of dancing and performance arts.

Early in his life he started as a professional ballroom dancer, then working on Broadway, to becoming a circus aerial artist and now a teacher in this field, while also a stand up comedian!

During the later years he became a full time carer for his mother who was dealing with dementia, this was highly impactful to his life, humour was his tool to get through it, he documented the process online via social media to share with others, then put this into a light and easy to read book, letting the humour that helped him shine to others, and as you will hear, his mothers influence on comedy and quick wit prepared him for this journey.

We also spoke on his difficulties of sexuality, how it felt to question yourself, how coming out as a homosexual was, and felt like, what helped and didnt help. I related to his experience of caring for his mother as this was a path in my journey and it was beautiful to exchange our individual yet similar journey through it. I truly appreciate you for listening.
