    122. Women in Transformation with Hailey Piper!

Hailey Piper (author of Queen of Teeth) returned to GHOULISH to celebrate her story "Life Begins at Injection" which was published in my new anthology, Lost Contact. In today's episode, we discuss body horror, women in transformation, cruel ways the police utilize noise to attack protesters, and why more horror authors need to start writing about vagina dentata.

    121. Horror Movie Practical Effects with Dan Rebert!

    121. Horror Movie Practical Effects with Dan Rebert!

WATCH THE VIDEO VERSION OF THIS EPISODE HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPxbodUWSDY
Dan Rebert is a practical effects genius known for his work on SLITHER, SIX FEET UNDER, and countless other movies and television shows. Recently, he worked on WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING, which I wrote and executive produced, so naturally I invited him on this week's episode of GHOULISH to discuss practical monster movie effects. This is the first VIDEO episode of the show, as Rebert came to the interview prepared to show off lots of cool props from the movie. He was also kind enough to share test footage he shot during pre-production, which I've edited into the episode throughout our discussion.

    118. Treehouse of Horror!

    118. Treehouse of Horror!

This is the first of a monthly series on GHOULISH wherein Max BOOOoooth and Andrew HELLbent watch a Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons and then talk about it. In today's first episode, our conversation consists of haunted houses, the possibility of aliens, what exactly are blackholes, how commercial space travel will destroy humanity, why removing one minute from newer episodes of The Simpsons ruined everything, and whether or not "The Raven" is actually any good.

    117. Horror Movie Novelizations with Tim Waggoner!

    117. Horror Movie Novelizations with Tim Waggoner!

Tim Waggoner recently published the novelization for Halloween Kills, so I invited him onto the podcast to discuss the process of writing a movie novelization. And, because my friend Miguel Myers (host of My Horror Confessional) is the biggest Halloween fan I know, I felt obligated to allow him to guest co-host the episode with me. It's a fun time! Don't listen if you haven't seen Halloween Kills, as we dig deep into spoiler territory.

Amazing!

One of my favorite podcasts! Max is hilarious and I love the nature camaraderie he has with his guests. Happy to be patron and love his indie press!

droopercell ,

Hilarious and irreverent

Great guests talking about their work and other horror-related stuff. Droopercellilliant.

Necroambulant ,

Unconventional

Ghoulish succeeds in setting itself apart from the other horror-related podcasts I routinely listen to, by maintaining a lighthearted and entertaining tone throughout as well as managing to go places most interviews never seem to go. It never feels scripted or templated in any way, and that makes it feel so much more organic. What, on the surface, might appear to be a total lack of professionalism produces a unique quality that’s refreshing and fun.
